1. Introduction

This privacy policy describes how TeachQ collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information in connection with use of the teachq.app website and related services. Using the platform constitutes agreement to this policy. If you do not agree to its terms, please refrain from using the service.

TeachQ is a smart teaching platform intended mainly for teachers and educational institutions. It includes tools for creating learning content, tests, worksheets, lesson plans, managing lessons, analytics, and AI-based features.

2. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to teachers and users who register for a TeachQ account, to visitors of the login and signup pages, to students or participants who see content or a quiz created on the platform when a teacher shares a link or access code with them, and to contacts who reach us for support or other inquiries.

3. What information we collect

Information you give us may include account details (name, email, phone if provided, username, and an encrypted password), Google sign-in details (identifier, name, and email with your consent), professional content such as lessons, tests, questions, media files, and content created with AI tools, subscription and payment details (plan type and purchase history — we do not store a full card number), and support requests.

Information collected automatically may include usage data and technical logs (IP address, browser type, access times), cookies required to run sign-in, and internal usage metrics for operating, billing, and protecting the service.

When a teacher shares an activity with students, answers, scores, and identifiers the teacher defined may be collected. The teacher or the educational institution is responsible for obtaining any required consent from parents or guardians when minors are involved.

4. Purposes of using the information

We use the information to provide the service, create an account and verify identity, run AI features at your request, improve security and prevent misuse, manage subscriptions and billing, meet legal obligations, and send essential operational messages such as email verification and password reset.

5. Legal basis

Information is processed in accordance with the Israel Privacy Protection Law and the relevant regulations. Depending on the case, processing is based on performing a contract with you, a legitimate interest in operating and securing the platform, a legal obligation, or consent when it is required.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers (hosting, infrastructure, AI providers, payment processing, and operational email) subject to confidentiality obligations, with Google if you chose to sign in through it, as required by law, or to protect rights and prevent fraud.

7. Artificial intelligence

Some TeachQ features rely on third-party AI models. Content you enter for generation or transcription may be sent to those providers in order to carry out the request. We recommend that you do not enter unnecessary sensitive information in AI prompts.

8. Security and retention

We take reasonable security measures, including encrypting traffic, limiting access, and using secure authentication cookies. Information is kept while the account is active and for as long as legal obligations require. After an account is deleted, personal identifiers are deleted or disconnected within a reasonable time, except for information we are required to keep.

9. Your rights and minors

The service is intended mainly for adult teachers. If minor students use activity links, the teacher or the institution is responsible for ensuring an appropriate legal basis.
